Fawn Wine & Amaro Bar is the newest addition to Decatur’s family of cozy, convivial restaurants by Terry and Jenn Koval. For over 20 years, the Kovals have called this city home. It’s where they’ve raised their children, built lasting relationships within and beyond the restaurant industry, and weathered global challenges—all with the kind of unconditional love and support that makes showing up every day not just possible, but meaningful.

With Fawn, the Kovals embark on a new chapter—one that departs from the game-forward, farmer-driven ethos of The Deer and The Dove and drifts toward something more coastal, more European, and undeniably shaped by volcanic terroir.

Grounded in the same dedication to local sourcing and small-scale producers, Fawn’s menu takes inspiration from the culinary traditions of France, Italy, and the southeastern coastlines of the United States. 

“For his seafood-centric food menu, Terry Koval, who took home the James Beard Award for best chef in the Southeast in 2023, said his aim was to get “the coolest and most interesting ingredients we can get our hands on.” This includes sourcing from small, family-run fisheries like Anchored Shrimp Co. in Brunswick, Bramlett Trout Farms in North Georgia and Sapelo Island Sea Farms clams.”
